Valley Seniors has been formed to provide
senior golfers (age 50 and older) an opportunity to meet and compete with other seniors in New Hampshire and eastern
Vermont. We have made arrangements to schedule tournaments at many of the finest courses in the area at competitive prices.
Tournaments will be held every other Wednesday from May 7 through the first week in October. Greens fees quoted
will include cart, and prizes.
VSGA is catering to amateur golfers and anticipates a wide range of ability. Established handicaps
will be used in an effort to equalize golfers. In a further effort to equalize, membership will be divided into three age
groups: A group - 50 through 60; B group - 61 through 70; C group - 71 and older. Prizes will be awarded in each age group
for Low Gross, Low Net, 2nd Low Net, and closest to the pin on a selected par 3 hole.
In order to accomodate the majority of
our members, the set of tees closest to 6,000 yards will be selected for each tournament.
GHIN handicaps are used to determine
low net. If a golfer does not have an established handicap, we will develop one for him based upon his tournament
scores.
Valley Seniors has an affiliate
Seniors group in Sarasota, Florida called Gulf Coast Seniors Golf Association. Members in Valley Seniors will not be charged
an
initiation
fee, and will receive a $20.00 discount in the Florida group. (See link to gulfcoastseniors.com for details).
